The department is designed for 30 beds, includes a neuroresuscitation intensive care unit for 6 beds, early rehabilitation beds and neurological beds. The main area of the department’s work is the provision of inpatient diagnostic care for the most pressing neurological issues and the introduction of modern treatment methods:
- acute cerebrovascular accident
- chronic pain syndromes (lower back pain, neurogenic pain syndromes, headaches, etc.)
- parkinsonism and parkinsonism syndromes
- epilepsy
- myasthenia gravis and neuromuscular diseases
- multiple sclerosis
- thrombolysis with ischemic stroke
- surgical treatment for hemorrhagic stroke

Diagnostic capabilities of the neurological department include neuroimaging (CT scan, MRI), neurophysiological (Cardiac Echocardiography, Rheoencephalogram), laboratory (cerebrospinal fluid research), neurorehabilitation methods (physiotherapy, exercise therapy, massage, etc.) are used. It should be noted that a huge contribution to the establishment of a neurological service on the basis of the center was made by an experienced neurologist of the highest category, Kuzhakulov D.K., who led this unit since its opening and raised a worthy generation of young specialists.
Medical care for acute cerebrovascular accident is provided in accordance with the approved emergency care algorithm. In practice a multidisciplinary approach is used, in the complex treatment of patients with stroke drug therapy, physiotherapeutic procedures are carried out, physiotherapy exercises, ergotherapy are prescribed, a psychologist works with patients and their relatives.
