On March 26, 2019 under the chairmanship of the deputy akim of the region M. Tokzhanovthe second meeting of the working group in the framework of the OECD project “Increasing Regional Competitiveness in Kazakhstan” was held. The meeting was attended by experts from OECD countries, representatives of the Ministry of Health, the staff of the Department of Health and the medical cluster, the vice-rector of WKSMU M. Ospanov.
A group of experts from the OECD got acquainted with the activities of the medical cluster. The experts from France and experts from the University of Lund and the project coordinator for countries of Eurasia presented interesting reports on the main directions of development of university clinics and cluster medicine. During this meeting, specific recommendations of OECD experts on the long-term development of the cluster to improve competitiveness and capacity building of regional health were discussed.A report on the activities and future prospects for the development of the medical cluster, at the core of which is Aktobe Medical Center, was made by the head of the Health Department, Kaliev A.A. and the center chief physician Isaev R.K.
